HF Unit Induction for Total
One of the key operating areas on Total UK’s Lindsey Oil Refinery is its HF Alkylation Unit. Hydrofluoric Acid is used as the catalyst in the production of lead free petrol. HF is highly toxic and very corrosive, so has to be handled with great care.
TVA was commissioned to produce a video to support the site’s HF Induction programme because of experience gained in producing similar programmes for other users of the extremely hazardous chemical.
This is a challenging environment in which to make a programme and it was imperative that the crew wore the necessary levels of PPE and complied with the Unit’s strict operating procedures.
The programme is designed to raise awareness of the hazardous nature of the product, while reassuring people that it is a safe place to work as long as everyone complies with safe working practices and follows procedures.
